Lanh Rahlan — Q4 2025 Nominee
Providing Lifesaving CPR in Extreme Conditions
When Security Operations received a report of an unresponsive individual, Assistant Site Supervisor Lanh Rahlan responded to assess the situation.
The individual was found under a blanket in a fetal position and was not responding to verbal commands or pain stimuli. His breathing was abnormal, his lips had turned purple and his eyes had rolled back.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, security placed the individual in the recovery position while additional assistance was requested. Rahlan immediately contacted 911 for medical help.
Following instructions from the 911 operator, the individual was repositioned and CPR was started.
Rahlan and the security team continued their response until fire rescue and Emergency Medical Services arrived and assumed patient care. Security personnel remained at the scene to assist with crowd control.
The individual eventually regained consciousness. Emergency Health Services later reported that he had experienced an overdose and administered Narcan.
One aspect of Rahlan's response makes his actions particularly remarkable: Rahlan has only one hand, yet he was still able to provide lifesaving CPR during the emergency.
His determination and ability to respond under extraordinarily difficult circumstances helped give the individual a chance at survival.
The Canadian Security Lifesaver Association proudly recognizes Lanh Rahlan as a Q4 2025 nominee for his lifesaving actions.
